Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and maintain robust, scalable, and secure Linux-based systems in production environments
  • Manage and optimize containerized workloads using Docker and Podman, ensuring high availability and performance
  • Deploy and orchestrate services in virtualized environments using KVM and LXD, with emphasis on network, storage, and security configuration
  • Automate infrastructure and operational tasks through Bash and Python scripting for deployment, monitoring, backup, and maintenance workflows
  • Provision and manage infrastructure using Ansible, Terraform, and Puppet, enabling consistent, version-controlled, and repeatable deployments
  • Implement and monitor observability solutions using Prometheus and Grafana, and establish centralized logging for proactive incident detection
  • Configure and maintain critical network services including DNS, DHCP, and NTP in enterprise-grade environments
  • Design and enforce high-availability (HA) architectures, backup strategies, and disaster recovery (DR) plans with regular testing and validation
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive technical documentation, including system architectures, runbooks, and onboarding materials
  • Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, contributing to problem-solving, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement in fast-paced environments

Requirements

  • Advanced proficiency in Linux system administration across distributions such as Ubuntu, Debian, and Alpine Linux
  • Hands-on experience with containerization (Docker, Podman) and virtualization (KVM, LXD) technologies
  • Strong scripting skills in Bash and Python for automation and tooling
  • Practical experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools including Ansible, Terraform, and Puppet
  • Solid understanding of networking fundamentals and experience managing core services (DNS, DHCP, NTP)
  • Proven ability to implement high-availability systems and disaster recovery strategies
  • Excellent documentation practices and a commitment to knowledge sharing
  • Strong communication skills, teamwork, and a proactive, detail-oriented approach to problem-solving
  • Familiarity with observability tools like Prometheus and Grafana, and centralized logging solutions

Nice to Have

  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) for hybrid or cloud-native deployments
  • Exposure to CI/CD pipelines and DevOps toolchains for automated deployments
  • Understanding of microservices architecture and distributed system design
  • Knowledge of security hardening practices for systems, containers, and networks
  • Experience with configuration management and policy-as-code approaches (e.g., using OPA, Sentinel)
